Instructors
Trisha and Jarod Wright are both AQHA Professional Horseman and the Lead Riding Instructors/Trainers at Rhinestone Ranch in beautiful Bend, Oregon. They both truly have a passion for horses and children, and for teaching riders at all levels.
Trisha grew up showing on the Quarter Horse circuit and specializes in Showmanship, English and Western all around events. She won many AQHA awards and qualified for the AQHA Youth World Championship Show by placing in the top two for her events in the state of California. She finished off her career as an AQHA Amateur by winning an All Around title and earning a saddle as her trophy. She now helps her students with coaching them at schooling shows and in 4H, OHSET, and AQHA shows, as well as works with young and green horses in performance events. She recently competed at the AQHA World Show on their four year old stallion, Rocking Hot, in the trail and western riding, tying for 10th in the L2 Junior Trail and placing 12th in the L2 Junior Western Riding. She went on to show him again at the 2021 AQHA World Show and they were top 10 in the JR Western Riding as well as Bronze Trophy winners in the L2 JR Western Riding and Finalists in the L2 JR Trail. She and her husband Jarod, started "Rocky" as a two year old and have done all the training on him together. Jarod and Trisha also love to compete in cattle sorting and penning. Trisha has been helping to teach children to ride for over 20 years, and truly holds a passion for it. She has worked as an intern with many different trainers and continues to educate herself through clinics and lessons with fellow trainers. She will easily admit and I'm sure you'll hear her say it, "You can never know too much!". Trisha is also a Certified preschool teacher and loves to work with children. She worked for almost nine years as a nanny and now is a proud mommy.
Jarod has over 20 years of equestrian and rodeo experience. Jarod has participated in cutting, reining, team roping, saddle bronc riding, bull riding and gymkhana events to train his horses. Jarod's training ranges from colt starting to cow events as well as gymkhana events and problem horses that just need time on them. He loves teaching others and working with children and adults. Jarod also has over 15 years experience as a farrier and he is currently accepting new clients.
Trisha and Jarod lead a team of youth and amateur riders and travel to AQHA Shows as well as participate in local events.
Between the two of them, Jarod and Trisha make a great team with their wide range of experience in different equestrian events. In their free time, which there isn't much of, Jarod and Trisha spend their time with their beloved family, animals and friends. They are proud parents to their daughter, 5 year old Kennedy Grace, as well as Trisha's 15 year old son Weston, and Jarod's 16 year old daughter Kylie and 19 year old son Justin. They all enjoy riding and competing in many different disciplines. "If you can make your passion your work, then it will never feel like work," they say, and they feel extremely blessed to say this is true for them.
If you have any questions regarding training or lessons please contact Trisha or Jarod and they would love to get to know you, your children, and your horses!
